SWP via the Net

 Details of SWP operations are available via the Internet at the web site of the State Water Project Operations Control Office, <http://wwwoco.water.ca.gov/4dwr/indexi.html>. The OCO directs overall water and power operations of the Project.

The Office—working with environmental and regulatory agencies—develops, plans, and implements SWP operations to meet Delta fish, water, and environmental requirements. The office develops studies for projecting water availability and providing guidelines for flood operation.

Through its contacts with electric utilities throughout the United States and Canada, OCO negotiates the sale and purchase of electrical power required for the economical operation of SWP pumping and generating plants. These responsibilities include accurate recordkeeping of data required for billing and for historical archiving.

At the site is a wide variety of information including daily operational logs, flood control guidelines, daily water and power reports, facility statistics (SWP Data Handbook), storage charts, Delta conditions, and much more.
